Churchill Downs and IGT have partnered with the Malta National Lottery to introduce historical horse racing (HHR) games outside the US for the first time. IGT will supply technology to IZIBINGO, Malta's first HHR venue, while Churchill Downs' Exacta Services will power the gaming floor with its Exacta Connect system.
HHR machines, resembling slot machines, allow players to bet on past horse races, with identifying details removed. This collaboration will expand HHR offerings to other National Lottery venues across Malta. Previously, IGT and Churchill Downs' HHR offerings were limited to the US.
Malta National Lottery customers will have access to over 80 IGT HHR games, including titles like Cleopatra Gold and Wolf Run Gold.
Exacta President Jeff Lind and IGT COO Nick Khin both expressed excitement about this international expansion. The first HHR systems are expected to go live within weeks, marking a significant step in innovating the National Lottery's operations.
IZIBINGO opened on July 4th.
