The daily fantasy sports (DFS) operator has partnered with the geo-compliance company to implement new geo-location technology on its platform.
PrizePicks has partnered with Xpoint to integrate new geolocation technology into its operations. The technology, designed to counter online gaming fraud, can extract the location of users and provide localised experiences that comply with state and federal regulations.
Unlike some geolocation technology companies, Xpoint focuses specifically on the gaming industry, providing solutions to DFS & online gaming operators that are regulation-compliant while also being accurate.
The technology will be integrated into the PrizePicks platform, attempting to ensure the location of players to guarantee that transactions are being made under local regulations.
Geolocation and geo-compliance technology is key to the online gaming industry, due to the potential of location spoofing and VPNs to allow players both inside and outside of the US to play in ways that they should not. For more information on geo-compliance technology, we spoke with Radar CEO and Co-Founder Nick Patrick about the impact and importance of geo-fencing in a previous issue of Gambling Insider.
On the partnership, PrizePicks CEO and Co-Founder Adam Wexler said: "We are committed to the integrity of our product offering, which is why we are thrilled to partner with Xpoint to leverage their industry-leading technology.
"The introduction of Xpoint is part of our ongoing efforts to ensure that we continue to meet and exceed the increasing demands within the DFS industry, while also pushing boundaries and innovating in the space." Manu Gambhir, CEO of Xpoint, added: "We are impressed by PrizePicks' commitment to compliance...We look forward to working together to help them raise the bar in the DFS industry."
