We are looking for an experienced Compensation & Benefits Specialist to join our HR team and take full ownership of all payroll and benefits processes for our employees in Romania. This role ensures the accurate and timely execution of all payroll-related activities, compliance with Romanian legislation, and a positive employee experience regarding compensation and benefits matters.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in payroll or compensation & benefits roles.
  • Strong knowledge of Romanian labour, tax, and social security legislation.
  • Proficiency in Excel and experience working with HRIS or payroll software.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and data confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication skills in Romanian and English.
  • Proactive, organized, and team-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end monthly payroll process for all Romanian employees, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality.
  • Collect and verify all necessary payroll inputs, such as attendance records, sick leave certificates, bonuses, salary advancements, and tracking of salary changes.
  • Prepare internal monthly reports and reports required by the National Statistical Institute.
  • Collaborate with external payroll services and the internal finance team to ensure smooth and accurate payroll execution.
  • Administer employee benefits, including medical subscriptions and meal tickets.
  • Ensure compliance with Romanian labour, tax, and social security legislation.
  • Provide support to employees by explaining payroll calculations, deductions, and benefits in a clear and professional manner.
  • Maintain accurate HR and payroll records, ensuring proper documentation and audit readiness.
  • Support other HR functions and initiatives as needed, in line with your professional experience and expertise.
