Requirements

Extensive Experience (Proven Impact): A proven track record (e.g., 8+ years) of designing, building, and maintaining high-performance, distributed systems. Your experience is defined by the complexity and scale of the projects you’ve led, not just time.

• Advanced Mentorship: Demonstrable experience elevating the technical abilities of other engineers through insightful code/design reviews, architectural guidance, and effective pairing.

• Architectural Fluency: A deep, holistic understanding of software engineering principles, architectural trade-offs, and best practices (e.g., distributed systems, event-driven architecture, data consistency, CI/CD).

• Organizational Influence: A proven ability to build consensus and influence technical decisions with diverse stakeholders (Product, Ops, Legal, etc.), driving change through collaboration.

• Executive-Level Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical strategy and trade-offs to engineers, partners, and executive leadership.

• Product and Business Acumen: A strong passion for the business, not just the technology. You understand our FinTech domain and can connect technical decisions directly to customer value.

• FinTech Expertise: Significant experience in the FinTech industry or a related high-compliance, high-reliability domain is essential.

Responsibilities

Define and Drive Technical Strategy: Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization (e.g., Product, Platform) to design, define, and lead the execution of high-impact, long-term technical strategies.

• Set the Technical Bar: Write and guide others to write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code, establishing the standard for a robust and scalable backend that benefits all teams.

• Own Business Outcomes: Take end-to-end ownership of strategic technical initiatives, from ambiguous business problems to production, focusing on the long-term health and success of the platform.

• Be a “Shift-Left” Multiplier: Proactively identify and mitigate systemic risks in product, data, security, and operations before they become organization-wide problems.

• Solve the Unseen Problems: Act as a technical force multiplier. You will not only solve the company’s hardest technical problems but also proactively find and define the problems that need to be solved to unlock future growth.

• Lead from Your Position: Lead critical technical discussions, drive long-term architectural decisions, and author and champion best practices for the entire engineering department, regardless of your team assignment.

• Mentor and Uplevel: Actively mentor and grow other engineers (including Seniors), elevating the technical bar of the entire organization through your guidance and influence. Your success is measured by the increased capability of the engineers you work with.
